• Supervise a team of 6-7
installation programmers who provide application design and technical
configuration, installation and ongoing support services for the eScription
software. • Worked with other department managers to achieve best KLAS
winning scores for 8 years. I deliver performance reviews, develop and ensure
department and employee’s goals are met in an efficient and productive
operation. • Work with staff to develop methods to reduce duration of
projects and reduce total effort spent on projects. This was done by
analyzing worked hours across past projects to determine the correct
allocation for different project types.• Work with customers, staff, Project
Managers and other departments to resolve escalated or complex issues. I
would also assume complex projects and troubleshoot during busy and time
sensitive periods.• Managed the integration of the Clintegrity products into
the technical professional services department. I worked with relevant
resources to develop a process, policies, and training to my group. I worked
to develop an allocation process and project plan to streamline resources. I
collaborated with colleagues to automate much of the process which resulted
in significantly reducing resource time. • Maintain and develop internal
scripts and programs that are used by internal personnel. The scripts are
written in mainly Perl with some bash and the programs are written in Java.•
Develop interdepartmental processes to reduce customer impact during

• Install and configure eScription
software on eScription and customer servers. I was the technical lead on each
project and was responsible for setting up all parts of the system including
the dictation, transcription, and distribution software. • Utilized SQL in
SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 to query and manipulate customer’s database. I
updated and added functionalities to existing SQL scripts.• Create, configure
and test HL7 interfaces used to send patient and report information to
Customer’s downstream medical record systems such as Meditech, Cerner, Epic,
Chartscript and Eclypsis. This often required writing java bean shells and
regular expression extract and manipulate database information. • Processed
historical text given to us by the customer, which was used to start building
speech models for physicians. As part of the processing, I wrote scripts
primarily in Perl to extract data and create necessary files. Perl regular
expressions were used to remove headers, footers and other non-essential
report data. Scripts were run to map the reports to the speakers in the
database and then install remaining data on the speech recognition machine.•
Worked with hospital’s telephony department to configure T1 lines as NI2,
5ESS or CAS. • Other configurations were made by creating and editing
initialization files in windows. Some shell scripting on a Linux environment
was also needed.• Created and maintained an HL7 interface library, which
allowed users to search for, edit and compare the various interface templates
within the eScription system. The front end application was written in java
and utilized a back end bash script that monitored for edited templates and
updated the file system accordingly. I designed the tool’s back end database
tables within SQL 2005 and wrote a perl script that would synchronize the
library’s database with the most up to date information.• Created various
internal tools written in Perl and bash for reporting and monitoring
purposes, as well as to automate functions that were previously manual and
time consuming. The Perl scripts often utilized Perl’s DBI module for
database interactions.• Researched potential bugs by reading corresponding
software written in Java.• Wrote custom code for hospitals in Java as needed,
which allowed further system functionality. • Other duties include mentoring
new employees, interviewing perspective candidates and creating and updating
documentation. |

• Monitor and support the
implementation of the Laboratory Module for hospitals across the United
States and Canada. The LAB software includes Laboratory, Microbiology, Blood
bank, and Pathology applications. I support these hospitals from installation
of the software, during testing, until the hospital was live with the
software for three months. Responsibilities include setting up the LAB
software for testing, fixing programming bugs, implementing programming
fixes, creating custom programs requested by hospitals, and preparing the
software for LIVE. The programs were written in a language created by the
company. This language is comparable in practice to Perl, and has many
syntactical similarities to Java and Lisp. Some customs also required the use
of VBA.• The company offers two types of software for LAB, each running on
separate operating systems. One OS they created the other runs off of a
Windows platform. I supported LAB software for both operating systems.•
Created many programs for both operating systems to be added to the LAB
software. Some programs are aimed at giving more flexibility to the
hospitals, while others are intended to improve the method in which updates
were delivered to hospitals.• I also am programmer support for the main
underlying module of the software. The module is the foundation of the
product, and interacts with all other modules offered.• I am periodically on
call during off-peak hours to assist hospitals with any software or hardware
problems that may arise. |
